Flyin' Miata just informed everyone via Facebook that they'll be attending the 2016 MX-5 Miata reveal on Sept 3 and Mazda released the above teaser photo!

raked tail end makes it look like a new mustang or... shudder... accord coupe. Wheel arches are unmistakably miata.

One thing I really like about my Miata is the situational awareness, you know, the visibility. Looks like they haven't preserved that in this generation.

I heard they're going with an onboard mid-body semi axle design. I got an inside scoop from a friend of a friend of the uncle of the guy whose neighbor heard about the design process. There's no passenger seat or door. This makes room for the right wheel and semi axle to be mounted next to the driver. Apparently the designer of the deltawing got super hammered one night and voila - new miata

Wheel arches very similar to NC, but there's some contouring at the door sill that's very much a new design element. I'm very excited about this... Hope it looks and performs great, and I hope I fit.

Apparently, they've nixed the Alfa, but they've shifted the idea over to Fiat.
